Rede2fix provides water-damage diagnostics by appointment for supported phones, tablets, smartwatches, laptops, and other electronics across South Florida. Liquid exposure can affect several components and corrosion may continue after the outside looks dry, so the first goal is safe evaluation—not an automatic promise of repair.
What to Do After Liquid Exposure
- Disconnect power. Unplug chargers and accessories when it is safe to do so.
- Turn the device off. Avoid repeated attempts to power it on.
- Do not apply heat. Hair dryers, ovens, direct sun, and other heat can cause additional damage.
- Do not rely on rice. It does not remove contaminants or internal corrosion.
- Contact Rede2fix. Tell us the liquid type, time of exposure, and current symptoms.
If a battery becomes hot, swollen, produces smoke, hissing, or a strong odor, move away when safe and contact emergency services if there is an immediate fire risk.
Mobile Water-Damage Evaluation
Send the brand, exact model, when the exposure occurred, the type of liquid, whether the device was charging, and every symptom noticed afterward. Photos of visible moisture, corrosion, or housing damage can help determine the safest next step.
Appointments may be available in Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Hialeah, Miami Gardens, Hollywood, and Fort Lauderdale. Some diagnostics require disassembly, cleaning equipment, or extended observation and may need bench service.
Devices We Evaluate
Phones and Tablets
Liquid can affect displays, charging ports, cameras, microphones, speakers, batteries, connectors, and internal boards. A device that still works may continue developing corrosion-related problems.
Apple Watch and Smartwatches
Water resistance changes with age, impact, seal condition, and previous service. A water-resistance rating does not guarantee protection in every circumstance.
Laptops and MacBooks
Disconnect the charger and stop using the computer when safe. Spills can spread through keyboards, trackpads, batteries, connectors, and main boards. Tell us if preserving data is the priority.
What Diagnostics Can Determine
An evaluation can identify visible corrosion, affected areas, power symptoms, and whether further repair is practical. It cannot guarantee that every delayed fault will be found immediately or that damaged data can be recovered.
How Water-Damage Diagnostics Work
- Report the exposure. Share the device, liquid, timing, and actions already taken.
- Stop additional power attempts. Follow safety guidance while waiting for service.
- Choose your city and date. We determine whether mobile or bench evaluation is appropriate.
- Receive an assessment. Rede2fix explains observed damage and reasonable next steps.
- Approve further work separately. No additional repair is assumed without confirmation.
Warranty coverage depends on the approved repair and applicable service terms; liquid-related conditions and pre-existing damage may be excluded. Hours are 8:00 AM–9:00 PM daily. Call (754) 400-0191 or message Rede2fix.
Water-Damage FAQs
Should I turn the device on to see if it still works?
Avoid repeated power attempts. Electricity can worsen damage when moisture or conductive residue remains inside.
Does placing a phone in rice fix water damage?
No. Rice does not remove internal contamination or corrosion and may introduce particles into ports.
Can water-damaged data be recovered?
Sometimes, but recovery depends on the damaged components and storage condition. No data outcome can be guaranteed.
Is water-damage diagnosis available at my location?
Initial mobile evaluation may be available, while detailed inspection or cleaning can require bench equipment.
